Students Sponsorship Program

This project was initiated with the main object to help the leprosy affected children and children of leprosy affected persons to continue their education and to bring them in the main stream of the society.  Education, particularly getting higher education becomes challenging for these students because of poor economic conditions, discrimination and less opportunities of exposures to normal life.

Education has also become less accessible in recent times due to heavy competition among students.  The cost of educating child has gone up tremendously.  Many children coming from such background tend to discontinue education at high school level just because their parents are not able to afford the cost, even if they are good in studies.

With continuous support from YASH FOUNDATION, USA, we have provided educational assistance   to 15 +2(New beneficiary) = 17 students. We have received 60 applications from the students. After well scrutiny of the background and educational progress, 17 needy and genuine students were selected for the assistance.

This year, it was our great pleasure to receive Mr. Mayuresh  Kulkarni, President, YASH Foundation to Acworth Leprosy Hospital Research Society, Mumbai, India. We had the opportunity to inform him various activities of the organization and also to organize a brief visit to Acworth Leprosy Museum. During his visit student beneficiaries were also called. There was good interaction session between students and Mr. Mayuresh. He informed them about various technical courses and also highlighted importance of these courses in future. Students also asked many questions regarding available opportunity in AI and other various field.  It was a very fruitful interaction. Students expressed gratitude and thank Mr. Mayuresh and YASH Foundation.
